This progressive academic pathway reflects a sustained and deepening commitment to understanding human experience and psychological well-being.

At the heart of Barton’s practice is a person-centred philosophy rooted in the belief that every individual holds the capacity for growth and self-directed change. He places deep trust in Carl Rogers’ core conditions — unconditional positive regard, empathy, and congruence — not merely as techniques, but as a fundamental way of being in relationship with clients. This means every person who walks through the door is received with full acceptance, warmth, and without judgment, regardless of what they bring.

Alongside this person-centred foundation, Barton draws on training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy, applying these approaches in a flexible and client-led manner. He works primarily with adults and young adults, with a focus on mood concerns, relationship management, and grief. Sessions are offered in Cantonese and English.

Counsellor in Placement Master of Counselling, Monash University (in progress) Master of Science in Psychology, Sheffield Hallam University Advanced Certificate…

["post-535","page","type-page","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
